About the Role
HITACHI ENERGY CANADA INC. is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our experienced engineering team for the growing business of transformer repair and service in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed material/parts lists for transformer mechanical projects (tanks, clamps, cleats, and leads supports, etc.).
- Design and develop mechanical tools for factory repair as required.
- Work closely with other engineering staff to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide mechanical support to factory repair and participate in on-site transformer inspections.
- Coordinate and help to develop/implement process and equipment upgrades to suit special transformer design manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- P. Eng. Designation is a plus.
- 5+ years of related Transformer experience in factory design, factory repair, or service.
- Mechanical engineering calculations.
- Steel and welding fabrication design.
- Proficient with computer and software-MS Office.
- Mechanical design (CAD).
- Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to formulate solutions to technical problems.
