Position Overview:

In this pivotal role, you will oversee and coordinate the distribution and logistics operations within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with industry regulations while maintaining high standards of customer service. This position is integral to the safe and efficient handling of both finished goods and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Distribution and Logistics teams, providing daily direction and support.
  • Guide supervisors in staff recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to share updates on departmental activities, policies, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives across all Supply Chain functions.
  • Evaluate employee performance and manage disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Propose and execute process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Establish management tools to optimize cost control.
  • Coordinate backhaul programs effectively.
  • Engage with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to align on distribution and logistics needs.
  • Monitor performance metrics and analyze data to drive improvements.
  • Stay informed on trends in Supply Chain and Logistics Management to apply best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations in warehouse operations.
  • Maintain adherence to inventory management practices.
  • Collaborate with senior management on budget development and oversight.
  • Ensure company vehicles are maintained in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on market conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or a minimum of five years of relevant supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP principles.
  • Proficient in automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with quality management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role.
