Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all project personnel are adequately trained in their job functions, understand and adhere to company policies, and comply with OSHA regulations.
  2. Facilitate compliance for new employees with all OHSA regulations and training prerequisites during training sessions.
  3. Verify that all employees meet the certification requirements as outlined in the Ontario Common Core Modules for Underground Hard Rock Mining.
  4. Conduct regular audits of the workforce to confirm that employees are trained and certified for their respective roles, providing additional training where necessary.
  5. Collaborate with project and safety superintendents to identify site-specific training needs.
  6. Maintain accurate records of employee training and certification, including Ontario Common Core, for the North Bay Office and ensure proper registration with relevant agencies.
  7. Deliver Fall Protection and WHMIS training as needed and ensure all training records are forwarded to North Bay.
  8. This role requires frequent travel to project sites and offices, which may vary from one day to several weeks, including potential international travel.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  1. Ability to cultivate and sustain strong relationships with various departments, key business partners, and stakeholders.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  3. Exceptional organizational capabilities.
  4. Strong understanding of confidentiality principles.
  5. Capable of working collaboratively in a team setting, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
  6. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Self-reflective regarding personal work quality.
  8. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  1. 10-15 years of relevant experience, preferably within the mining industry.
  2. Relevant post-secondary education.
  3. Certification in Train the Trainer.
  4. Knowledge of Ontario Common Core Modules for the subjects being taught.
  5. Supervisory Common Core certification.
  6. First Aid Training Instructor certification or willingness to obtain.
  7. Advanced Rigging certification.
  8. Mine Rescue Certification or experience as a Mine Rescue Instructor.
  9. Working at Heights Train the Trainer Certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  1. This position does not have direct reports.
