Position Overview

The Clinical Social Worker plays a vital role within the interdisciplinary health care team, delivering integrated and comprehensive care across various levels of health services. This position focuses on the interactions between individuals and their environments, which are essential for psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual health. The principles of social determinants of health are central to the practice of social work, guiding the processes of engagement, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to identify client needs and strengths.
  • Utilize a client-centered approach to facilitate effective problem-solving and coping strategies.
  • Employ evidence-based treatment methodologies, including Motivational Interviewing and behavior change counseling.
  • Facilitate group sessions to support client engagement and development.
  • Assist clients and families in navigating community resources and services.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience post-BSW.
  • Experience in community-based settings is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.

Work Schedule

  • This is a permanent full-time role, requiring 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends may be necessary.
  • Travel to various locations may be part of the role.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is competitive, and successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
