The Health Informatics Analyst is responsible for working with the Informatics and clinical databases and the data warehouse to provide information and develop reports required for decision support in performance management, research, and innovations at TGLN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compiles data from various sources to produce reports and analyzes data
- Supports the quality assurance process by completing required quality activities and identifying areas for department improvement
- Data privacy and security
- Work in compliance with OHSA and AODA
Requirements:
- Determines the data required from client requests and extracts and organizes data from the data warehouse and other data sources to generate reports using standard processes, tools, and procedures
- Compiles data into usable information for others; formats report output and provides preliminary analysis; troubleshoots and resolves data extraction problems
- May assign data requests to other team members
- Assesses and articulates incomplete and/or limitations of the data to internal and external stakeholders
- Presents data findings to requestors at a level they can comprehend, able to speak to the data and address any questions or concerns they may have
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in health informatics technology, computer science, or related discipline
- Three (3) years' work experience in health informatics, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
- Two (2) years' working with SQL Server Reporting Services
- Demonstrated strong understanding of relational database concepts
- Experience working with data warehouses and tools for data mining
- Experience formally presenting data to a varied audience; experience with health care indicators (e.g., Key Performance Indicators)
- Experience working with business intelligence tools
- Demonstrated working knowledge of statistical analysis methods and applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical information, and clinical outcomes to support accurate analysis and interpretation of data
- Experience with data privacy and security required
- Knowledge of biostatistics, statistics, or epidemiology an asset
