The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Protection & Control Coordinator to join our team at Yukon Energy.

About the Role:

As a key member of our Electrical Maintenance team, you will provide technical, design, and project management services for assigned capital and O&M protection, control, and other electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of electrical protection and control systems.
  • Provide journey-level electrician work, with a focus on new equipment installations and asset rebuilding.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Yukon Energy's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Two-year diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Journeyman Electrician or Power System Electrician certification is an asset.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Minimum three years experience testing and maintaining protective relays.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer applications and electrical design software.
  • Ability to read and work off blueprints and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with high voltage test equipment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid class-5 driver's license and First Aid certificate.
