Electrical Protection and Control Specialist

The Opportunity:

Yukon Energy is seeking an Electrical Protection and Control Specialist to join our team in Whitehorse, Yukon. As a key member of our Electrical Maintenance team, you will provide technical, design, and project management services for assigned capital and O&M protection, control, and other electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of electrical protection and control systems.
  • Provide technical support for electrical maintenance and project activities.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Maintenance team to ensure safe and efficient electrical system operation.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Journeyman Electrician or Power System Electrician certification.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Minimum of three years experience testing and maintaining protective relays.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer applications and electrical design software.

  • Northern Allowance: $6,650 + 5% Base Pay.
