About the Role

The Supported Child Development (SCD) Assistant provides supplementary staffing support to ensure that children with support needs can participate fully in the childcare settings chosen by their families. This role works within a designated childcare setting as part of the childcare team, which includes childcare setting staff, parents, and families that attend the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the childcare team to ensure the child/ren being supported are included in all aspects of the program.
  • Provide supplementary staffing support to ensure children with support needs can participate fully in the childcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in child development, such as Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, Certified Education Assistant, Bachelor of Education, or a combination of related child development training and experience.
