Job Summary

We are seeking a Child and Youth Support Worker to join our Child and Youth with Support Needs team on a casual, as-needed basis. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the CYSN Senior Worker, providing in-home care and recreation experiences, and being an integral part of the Care Team. The Care Team operates from a child-centred approach, providing a circle of support for the youth and/or family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to children and youth in their homes and communities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs of clients
  • Work collaboratively with the Care Team to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care
  • Engage in non-violent crisis intervention and behavioral interventions as needed
  • Meet the requirements for Criminal Record Clearance and Ministry of Children and Family Development Security Clearance

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant discipline in the human/social service field or related experience
  • Knowledge and skills in attachment safe approaches with children and youth
  • Experience in a similar care setting
  • Valid driver's license
