Job Summary

The Appraisal Unit Manager will lead and manage the Auto Damage Appraisal Unit to maximize its performance potential. This will be achieved by creating unit-wide training aligned with individual developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Auto Damage Appraisal Unit to ensure it operates in line with service level agreements and internal protocols.
  • Oversee and support Mitchell Estimatics, addressing any issues and implementing continuous change management.
  • Liaise with PD Unit Managers to ensure procedures are followed and provide support to the PD Team.
  • Conduct quality and administrative file audits, record findings, and report concerns to upper management.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education combined with comparable experience in automotive collision repair or automotive mechanical repair industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Collision Estimator or Insurance Appraiser.
  • Preferred qualifications include Class A Motor Vehicle Technician or apprentice, Class B Body Repair Technician or apprentice, Certification in Motive Power Technology, or Basic Estimating Course.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of vehicle damage analysis.
  • Advanced negotiation skills and investigative logic.
  • Progressive experience in training, mentoring, and coaching employees.
