We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Millards. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in providing top-tier accounting services to our clients and mentoring junior staff members to success.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engagement assignments, including review and compilation, as well as personal and corporate tax returns.
- Review working paper files, financial statements, and tax returns prepared by other staff.
- Prepare and complete complex working paper files, financial statements, and tax returns for compilation, review, and audit engagements according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in various industries.
- Assist clients with compliance filings and respond to queries related to filings with the Canada Revenue Agency and applications for support under new government programs.
- Assist clients with day-to-day queries regarding various business issues.
- Assist in the training of junior staff.
- CPA designation is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years post-designation experience in public accounting.
- Working experience with public accounting software such as Caseware, Taxprep.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of required government taxes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
