Position Overview

As a key member of our team, you will oversee the design, upkeep, restoration, and construction of various transportation infrastructures, including bridges and culverts. Your role will involve direct project management as well as collaboration with specialized teams formed to address specific maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction needs. These teams may include professionals from different sections, divisions, and regulatory agencies, as well as consulting engineers, suppliers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of both Capital and Operations & Maintenance projects with a cumulative budget of up to $300 million.
  • Conduct inspections and apply rehabilitation and maintenance techniques for bridges and culverts.
  • Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Utilize financial acumen to oversee project budgets effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Engage with a diverse range of clients and team members in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Employ analytical and problem-solving skills, combining creativity with practical solutions.

Qualifications

This position typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must be eligible for professional registration with the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG) and possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License. A criminal records check is also required for this position of trust.
