Medical Laboratory Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work and related duties in the fields of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. You will report data obtained to physicians and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform laboratory work and related duties in the fields of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
- Report data obtained to physicians.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques.
- Successful completion of an approved course in Medical Technology.
- Registration with the British Columbia Society of Laboratory Science (BCSLS).
- Accuracy in performance of duties.
- Ability to recognize discrepancies; to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to concentrate.
- Ability to remain calm in emergencies.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Keen perception and good judgment are required.
