About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and analytical DevOps Engineer to enhance our organization. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing and sustaining the infrastructure and tools that empower our development teams to efficiently build, test, and deploy software. Your main goal will be to optimize software development, deployment, and operational processes utilizing contemporary tools, technologies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage servers and networking equipment, ensuring optimal availability, performance, and security.
- Establish robust monitoring and alerting systems for timely detection and resolution of infrastructure issues.
- Evaluate system performance and identify optimization opportunities, implementing necessary adjustments to enhance efficiency.
- Adopt best practices for securing hardware and network infrastructure, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations regarding hardware and network security.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and network-related incidents, collaborating closely with software developers to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Respond promptly to critical incidents and participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Share knowledge and expertise with team members to cultivate a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
- Conduct high-level operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand their requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure and tools to support their workflows.
- Research and propose innovative solutions, and where feasible, automate key administrative tasks.
- Guide the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Over 8 years of experience in DevOps technologies.
- Demonstrated experience as a DevOps Engineer, particularly focused on hardware and network infrastructure.
- Proficient in Ansible, Shell scripting, and database queries.
- Expertise in PHP programming.
- Strong grasp of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, VPN, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with hardware components, server provisioning, and data center operations.
- Proficient in shell scripting for automation and task orchestration.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Lxc, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Complete proficiency in Linux, particularly on the command line interface.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of the CI/CD development process and experience with CI platforms like Jenkins, Bitbucket CI, GitLab CI, Travis CI, or CircleCI.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive success.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for deploying and managing applications and infrastructure.
- Proficient with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for managing containerized applications at scale.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Splunk to track system performance, detect issues, and maintain system health.
