Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Scientist or Technologist to join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team in Fort St John, BC.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on a broad range of projects, including contaminated site investigations, remediation activities, and reclamation assessments. As an Environmental Scientist or Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex contaminated site investigations, supervising drilling and sampling activities, and collaborating with project managers and technical advisors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex contaminated site investigations, including drilling assessments, groundwater monitoring, remediation activities, and reclamation assessments.
- Supervise drilling and sampling activities, including k-tests, elevation surveys, and sampling using various methods.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical advisors to ensure project progress, execution, and scope changes are communicated effectively.
- Support and mentor junior professionals and provide on-the-job training in the field and office.
- Learn, understand, and apply BC regulations related to assessment, remediation, and reclamation of oil and gas sites.
- Minimum 3 years of previous experience with assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects.
- A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or engineering.
- Exhibit a strong safety mindset and self-motivation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior professionals.
- Experience as a ground disturbance supervisor and familiarity with spill response would be considered an asset.
