About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Scientist or Technologist to join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team in Fort St. John, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate and drive Matrix's strong safety culture
  • Manage and provide technical oversight for assessment, remediation and reclamation projects in NEBC
  • Ensure internal communication and collaboration to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients' unique project needs
  • Review project timelines, budgets, and provide guidance on communication with clients and project-related stakeholders
  • Provide overall accountability for the technical execution project-related deliverables including proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports
  • Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team
  • Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities and mentoring junior staff
Requirements
  • Technical diploma or degree in environmental science or a related field
  • A minimum of eight (8) years' previous consulting experience in assessment, remediation and reclamation projects in British Columbia
  • A member in good standing of a professional organization (ASET, APEGA), with preference given to a professional Agrologist
  • Familiarity with reviewing technical reports, work plans and cost estimates
  • Experience with reclamation-related activities, including re-vegetation plans and schedule B's
  • Strong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findings
  • Willingness to provide technical direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions
