Senior Environmental Scientist or Technologist

At Montrose Environmental Group, we're dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for a resilient future. As a Senior Environmental Scientist or Technologist, you'll be part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team in Fort St. John, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Matrix's strong safety culture and ensure internal communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality products to clients.
  • Manage and provide technical oversight for assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects in NEBC.
  • Review project timelines, budgets, and provide guidance on communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide overall accountability for technical execution of project-related deliverables, including proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports.
  • Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team.
  • Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or degree in environmental science or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years' previous consulting experience in assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects in British Columbia.
  • A member in good standing of a professional organization (ASET, APEGA), with preference given to a professional Agrologist.
  • Familiarity with reviewing technical reports, work plans, and cost estimates.
  • Experience with reclamation-related activities, including re-vegetation plans and schedule B's.
  • Strong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findings.
  • Willingness to provide technical direction and mentorship to more junior professionals.
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions.
