Aerial Line Supervisor Job Description

Telecon is seeking an experienced Aerial Line Supervisor to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a key member of our Civil Team, you will be responsible for supervising field crews and sub-contractors, working closely with the Project Management team and Contract Coordinators to plan and distribute work, and ensuring accurate and detailed billing is completed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise field crews and sub-contractors to ensure efficient and safe operations
  • Work with the Project Management team to plan and distribute work to field crews
  • Ensure accurate and detailed billing is completed in a timely manner
  • Travel between job sites to follow-up and ensure project timelines are maintained
  • Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members on various aspects in the field
  • Communicate and work with clients, managers, municipalities, and locate companies to ensure projects are completed to client specifications and within timeline(s)
Requirements:
  • Completion of high school or post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of telecommunications aerial line work operations experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team
  • Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills to build strong relationships and network effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret utility plans and general contracts
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Full G driver's license with a good driver's abstract and ability to travel to various job sites
