Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Recreation Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist to provide client rehabilitation treatment and intervention programs.
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating client care services, including individual and group delivery, lifting/transferring clients, and client/staff education.
  • Contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to provide quality patient-centered care and participate in care teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong clinical reasoning and judgment skills, with a focus on evidence-based practice and best practices.
Requirements
  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training.
  • Experience working as a PT assistant, OT assistant, SLP assistant, or Rec. T Assistant, with a strong focus on clinical reasoning and judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative interdisciplinary team and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
