Who We Need

Reporting to the Associate Director of Applications, the Practicum Support Specialist will be a key resource for students, providing guidance prior to their field placements, managing student applications for practicum opportunities, and assisting with specialized application processes.

What You Will Do
  1. Guide pre-practicum students on necessary, time-sensitive documentation for practicum approval (Practicum Application Package).
  2. Engage with students during designated hours through various communication channels to address inquiries related to practicum and the application process.
  3. Maintain confidential student records, ensuring an updated list of assigned pre-practicum students and tracking their progress through various phases.
  4. Handle sensitive and confidential practicum documentation while adhering to application deadlines.
  5. Review standard Practicum Application Packages.
  6. Ensure that approved students have their individual folders organized in the shared drive.
  7. Collaborate closely with the Associate Director, Applications to guarantee accurate student placements.
What You Bring
  1. A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and data management systems, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software.
  3. A collaborative team player who can independently manage substantial volumes of confidential documentation efficiently.
  4. Strong communication skills to engage professionally with practicum site professionals, prospective and current graduate students, university staff, and faculty.
  5. Advanced proficiency in English - spoken, written, and presentation skills.
  6. Exemplary levels of confidence, teamwork, adaptability, empathy, and patience.
  7. Ability to address the diverse needs of graduate students with cultural sensitivity.
  8. A strong work ethic, discipline, and professionalism.
