As a Data Science Engineer focusing on Fulfillment Optimization, you will play a pivotal role in developing comprehensive machine learning solutions aimed at refining our fulfillment processes. Your work will significantly enhance the shopping experience for our customers and streamline operations for our in-store teams. By leveraging extensive operational data, your primary objective will be to create predictive models that optimize inventory management and fulfillment capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with cross-functional business teams to gather data, define requirements, and establish success metrics.
- Develop scalable and efficient machine learning solutions utilizing large structured and unstructured datasets.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Data Platform teams to implement and deploy machine learning models in a production environment.
- Design experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of your solutions through relevant performance metrics.
- Document findings and share insights with stakeholders, facilitating technical discussions with other Data Science teams.
- Master's or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline, particularly in computer science, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent professional experience.
- A portfolio showcasing expertise in data science and machine learning, particularly in predictive analytics and operations research.
- Innovative and resourceful problem-solver with a strong analytical mindset.
- Passionate about applying data science to complex, open-ended challenges.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient in advanced SQL querying and Python programming.
- Familiarity with shell scripting and Unix environments.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Beam, and Kafka.
- Knowledge of workflow scheduling tools like Airflow.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Understanding of software development best practices.
