Audio Designer Job Description

Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. is seeking an experienced Audio Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Elaborate and implement best-in-class interactive sound design that supports and enriches the game creative and audio vision.
  • Influence the project strategy for sound design and provide mentorship and guidance to the audio team.
  • Collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team to elevate the game's sonic experience.
  • Work with the audio director to define and develop the audio aesthetic of the game.
  • Implement and mix all sound assets types in Wwise and Unreal 5.
  • Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge sound design techniques and promote their use when beneficial to the game.
  • Mentor junior sound design staff in realizing high-quality assets both artistically and technically.
Requirements:
  • Experience as an Audio Designer on a AAA title.
  • Expertise in sound design, mixing, and music design.
  • Advanced knowledge in field recording and sound synthesis techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of audio game technologies and tools.
  • Proficiency with 3D audio techniques such as object-based mixing, ambisonics, and HRTF.
  • Knowledge of current games to benchmark audio.
  • Experience in building and maintaining audio systems in a GAAS environment.
  • Deep understanding of audio pipelines and performance constraints.
  • Musical training.
