Audio Designer Job Description

Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. is seeking an experienced Audio Designer to join our Haven Entertainment Studios project team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the audio director to define and develop the audio aesthetic of the game.
  2. Implement and mix all sound assets types in Wwise and Unreal 5.
  3. Proactively identify audio challenges and create innovative solutions to achieve the highest quality sound.
  4. Mentor Jr sound design staff in realizing high-quality assets both artistically and technically.
  5. Advocate quality audio to the whole team.
Requirements:
  1. Experience as Audio Designer on a AAA title.
  2. Expert in sound design, mixing, and music design.
  3. Advanced knowledge in field recording and sound synthesis techniques.
  4. Proficient with major DAWs and expert in at least one.
  5. Proficient with 3D audio techniques such as object-based mixing, ambisonics, and HRTF.
  6. Knowledge of current games to benchmark audio.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the development team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Knowledge and experience in Unreal 4 and/or 5.
  2. Experience in building and maintaining audio systems in a GAAS environment.
  3. Deep understanding of audio pipelines and performance constraints.
