Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Senior Payroll Consultant to enhance our award-winning team, recognized as the 2023 NPI Payroll Team of the Year. This role presents an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in the payroll domain and grow professionally within Intact.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation & Training - Payroll

  • Evaluate and refine processes to enhance team productivity.
  • Work closely with management to identify training needs and coordinate development sessions for analysts.
  • Offer guidance and solutions for complex payroll scenarios.
  • Conduct training sessions for the payroll team and associated partners.
  • Support the creation of e-learning resources to aid in the onboarding of new analysts.

Project Management - Payroll

  • Engage in projects addressing all aspects impacting payroll operations.
  • Act as a liaison for all stakeholders involved.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses and recommend standardization of discrepancies related to earnings and deductions.
  • Ensure timely completion of all project deadlines.
  • Anticipate challenges and project impacts effectively.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for complex payroll issues.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions during organizational acquisitions and manage exceptions efficiently.

Quality Assurance - Payroll

  • Analyze various issues affecting payroll processes and employee experiences, proactively identifying solutions.
  • Develop a dashboard (KPI) by aggregating data from internal systems.
  • Identify trends and provide insights and recommendations based on data variations.
  • Establish quality control measures within the payroll team and across the organization.

What You Will Gain:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of payroll systems.
  • A minimum of 7 years of payroll experience (National Payroll Institute certification is a plus).
  • Strong proficiency in the Workday system.
  • Understanding of training methodologies and learning principles.
  • Adaptability to utilize virtual platforms or conduct in-person training.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training in both English and French.
  • Capability to design, implement, and assess training programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in prioritizing and managing multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Ability to create training materials and user guides in various formats.
  • Customer and employee service-oriented mindset.
  • Skill in summarizing complex issues effectively.
  • Ability to offer support and advice to team members.
  • Experience in producing detailed technical documentation.
  • A collaborative, self-sufficient, and organized approach to work.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required, as interaction with colleagues across the country is frequent.
