Job Summary:

Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd. is seeking a skilled Dozer Track Loader Operator to join our team in Western Canada. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for operating a dozer or track loader in a safe and efficient manner to assist with installation and backfill of various utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a track dozer or track loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Perform routine daily cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation.
  • Operate equipment controls to regulate height and angle of a blade or bucket and lower ripper to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
  • Ensure sound understanding of ground disturbance requirements.
  • Operate equipment in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower materials (loam, clay, pitrun, etc.) to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract (as per Company policy).
  • Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience operating a dozer.
  • Knowledge of underground industry standards, and OH&S requirements.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry at least 20 LBS on an occasional basis.
  • Valid Class 5 Operators License; Clean Drivers Abstract (as per Company Policy), preferred.
  • Must comply with the Company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Possible out of town and weekend work as required.
