Position Overview: The WCRP Climate is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Climate Science Communication Specialist. This role is integral to bridging the gap between scientific research and its practical applications in society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific support to the wider WCRP community and its initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate complex scientific concepts through various channels, including website content and online forums.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with community members and collaborators.
  • Coordinate activities with volunteers and project interns to enhance project outcomes.
  • Organize and facilitate both online and in-person meetings, workshops, and training sessions relevant to WCRP.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documents, white papers, and guidance materials to support community knowledge.
  • Prepare administrative reports and publication materials to ensure effective communication of project progress.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in international collaboration, particularly in developing regions.
  • Proficiency in meeting facilitation, both in-person and online.
  • A Master's degree in a climate science-related field is required; a PhD is preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in French is highly desirable.
