Municipal Infrastructure Project Lead

CIMA+ is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team in the Greater Montreal Area.

In this role, you will play a key part in leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects for municipal infrastructure clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for a diverse range of projects, from small-scale developments to large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams as the Project Engineer or discipline lead, ensuring seamless collaboration across various engineering disciplines.
  • Manage technical aspects of projects, effectively communicating with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Develop innovative solutions to guide work teams and address complex engineering challenges.
  • Design and deliver municipal infrastructure projects, including sewer and water main networks, roadways, and site development plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive study reports, detailed drawings, specifications, and accurate cost estimates.
  • Oversee on-site technicians, ensuring project execution aligns with design intent and quality standards.
  • Manage administrative aspects of projects, including budget control, schedule adherence, and amendment processes.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development and technical expertise.
  • Contribute to business development activities, supporting the office director in identifying new opportunities and expanding our client base.
  • Participate in proposal development, showcasing CIMA+'s capabilities and solutions to potential clients.
  • Facilitate effective communication and lead meetings with clients, ensuring clear understanding and alignment on project objectives.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum five years of experience in municipal infrastructure projects within Canada, ideally eight or more.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated initiative, proactiveness, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.
  • Passion for integrating sustainable practices into engineering projects.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements and innovative technologies.
  • Experience working on projects for the City of Laval and/or the City of Montreal is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in PCSWMM, Civil3D, and AutoCAD software.
  • Bilingual proficiency (French and English) is essential for effective communication with clients, colleagues, and regulatory bodies.
