Position Overview
The Government of Nunavut is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Resources Coordinator to enhance early childhood development initiatives across the region. This role is pivotal in creating culturally relevant resources and materials that support the growth and development of young children in Nunavut.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Manager of Early Childhood Resources to design and implement effective resources and programs.
- Engage with community stakeholders, including the Early Childhood Development unit and the District Education Authority, to ensure resources meet the diverse needs of children, parents, and childcare providers.
- Support the training and development of licensed center staff to ensure the successful application of resources and programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented resources and programs, gathering data to inform future improvements.
- Adhere to the legal requirements outlined in the Inuit Language Protection Act and the Child Day Care Act.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a recognized degree in Arts, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field, along with at least one year of experience in a licensed childcare environment. A focus on Early Childhood Education is considered an asset.
Fluency in multiple official languages of Nunavut, including Inuktut, English, and French, is highly desirable. Knowledge of Inuit culture and experience in a northern cross-cultural setting will be beneficial.
