Reports To: Manager
Work Model: On-Site
Grade: D0:09
Compensation: $46.80 to $62.62 per hour, based on experience and UHN compensation policies
Status: Casual
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, verify, and dispense prescribed medications ensuring appropriateness and safety.
- Identify and mitigate drug-related issues to enhance patient outcomes.
- Monitor therapeutic regimens for efficacy, safety, and adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Address medication incidents and advocate for safe medication practices.
- Provide expert responses to drug information inquiries.
- Supervise pharmacy technician staff in a direct or functional capacity.
- Perform additional duties as required in line with job classification.
- Completion of a university degree in Pharmacy (BSc or PharmD) or equivalent.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada is mandatory.
- Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) is required.
- Certification in smoking cessation and flu vaccination programs is essential.
- Familiarity with specialty medication dispensing and out-of-province patient processes.
- Experience in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of adherence programs, including compliance packaging and refill management.
- Experience with billing processes related to pharmacy services.
- Proficiency in pharmacy inventory management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Preferred experience in hospital outpatient pharmacy settings.
- Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency is an asset.
- Experience with blister pack handling is advantageous.
