Job Summary

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in the operation of the Centre, contributing to the day-to-day maintenance of essential support services under the supervision of assigned Staff Pharmacist and overall supervision by the Manager of the Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate professional and courteous customer service
  • Perform information gathering and prescription data entry
  • Process prescriptions, including counting, labeling, and related filing responsibilities
  • Operate cash register functions
  • Maintain inventory management, including purchasing, receiving, and stock rotation
  • Perform extemporaneous compounding

Requirements

  • Regulated Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Experience in outpatient pharmacy
  • Experience with the Kroll pharmacy computer system
  • Computer skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Ontario drug benefit and Third Party drug plan billing procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Pharmaceutical Math
  • Accurate and efficient typing skills
  • Accurate and attention to detail
  • Well-organized work habits
  • Adaptability and ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to work in a close team environment
  • Cash handling skills and customer-oriented focus

This is a Full-Time Temporary Position (18 months), with 8-hour shifts, days, evenings, and weekends in the outpatient pharmacy.
