About the Role

BIDS Technical Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of our telecommunications network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and Maintain Aerial and Underground Equipment: Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground telephone equipment, including cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
  • Inspect and Test Cable Signals: Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Repair and Replace Faulty Cables and Equipment: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service.
  • Work Safely at Heights: Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to install and maintain equipment.
  • Provide Training and Support: Instruct apprentices and provide training and support to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Complete and maintain test and service reports to track work completed and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 32 hours per week.
