Cable Installation Specialist

At BIDS TECHNICAL SERVICES INC., we are seeking a skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team. As a Cable Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment, installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, and reading blueprints to determine work requirements. You will also be responsible for repairing cable signals, testing trunking systems, and testing equipment to locate transmission faults. Additionally, you will be required to install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment, instruct apprentices, and complete and maintain test and service reports. You will also be responsible for determining the nature, cause, and location of trouble, climbing and working aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures, and connecting, disconnecting, and relocating cable outlets. You will also be required to install cable modems and software to enable Internet access, maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems, and repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers. You will also be responsible for splicing, joining, and connecting wires, and repairing or replacing defective telephone equipment. This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week, with English as the primary language of work.

Requirements

7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the field
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
Ability to operate a variety of equipment and tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
