Senior Financial Analyst for North American Marketing

The Senior Financial Analyst for North American Marketing plays a crucial role within the financial planning and analysis team. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, this position is essential for interpreting the financial dynamics of the North American eCommerce sector, Marketing expenditures, and Supply Chain financial allocations. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Marketing for North America, taking charge of financial assessments that drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a financial partner to the VP of Marketing and their North American commercial teams, extracting financial insights to evaluate business performance.
- Manage the budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term planning for the Canadian and US eCommerce channels, tailoring forecasts for each market and presenting findings to senior finance and leadership teams.
- Collaborate across departments to analyze key performance indicators, derive insights, and gather additional data to support the creation of annual, monthly, and daily sales forecasts for both Canadian and US operations.
- Investigate gross margin factors to comprehend how pricing, volume, customer demographics, channel distribution, and product assortment influence the North American markets.
- Prepare and scrutinize profit and loss statements to identify the unique business drivers of eCommerce, alongside Marketing initiatives and Supply Chain financial distributions.
- Work in conjunction with Global FP&A and Accounting teams to compile monthly accruals, conduct month-end variance analyses, and provide closing commentary.
- Develop financial models and conduct ad-hoc analyses to support various initiatives within the Canadian and US markets.
- Forecast and monitor capital expenditures in Canada.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a financial planning and analysis capacity.
- Professional designation as a CPA, MBA, or equivalent financial qualification.
- Previous experience in retail or wholesale sectors, particularly within an apparel or consumer packaged goods environment.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leadership to convey business insights and facilitate their understanding of financial performance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and pivot tables, with experience in developing Excel templates and financial models.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, suitable for executive-level interactions.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, self-motivation, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills are vital for success in this role.
