About the Role:

The IAM Security Specialist role at Sun Life is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. As a key member of our Identity and Access Management team, you will be responsible for working with application and identity owners to remediate identity security issues detected by our security monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve identity and access management solutions and systems to protect against evolving threats and enhance efficiency.
  • Detect and respond to identity misconfigurations or suspicious access requests to prevent security breaches.
  • Remediate digital identity security risks identified by security monitoring tools to ensure the integrity of our systems.
  • Develop and implement campaigns to educate identity owners on security best practices and encourage them to fix security issues on their digital identities.
  • Collaborate with the owners of IAM tools to prevent identities from being configured with risky settings or excessive privileges.
  • Design and develop technical specifications for identity and access management solutions.

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in a related field, or equivalent work experience, and/or 5+ years of experience in the security IT industry.
  • Industry-recognized Information Security designation (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM) is an asset.
  • Technical skills in SQL, Active Directory, Linux, and automation for application security tasks.
  • Experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ and other multi-factor authentication platforms is an asset.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with technical teams, security engineering teams, and IAM teams.
