We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Manager to join our team at the Universal Group. As an Area Manager, you will play a critical role in the overall coordination and implementation of high-quality traffic control services.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the General Manager (GM), Dispatch, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to coordinate schedules, distribute work efficiently, and address relief needs.
- Manage and develop client relationships in partnership with the GM.
- Supervise and direct traffic employees in the Dispatch, Fleet, and for site requirements.
- Ensure field staff comply with regulations, company standards, and policies through education and training.
- Address the portfolio of clients assigned to them and employee inquiries, including staffing, safety concerns, and complaints.
- Investigate and address complaints from clients, the public, and employees, reporting major incidents.
- Collaborate with Fleet and Facilities departments to maintain proper inventory and supply of fleet vehicles for new LCTs.
- Analyze field staff utilization and address non-supply issues.
- Assist HR and GM with manpower forecasting, planning, and deployment.
- Work with HR on recruiting, retention, labor relations, and compliance with collective agreements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and practices in collaboration with OHS.
- Site visits for contractor consultations.
- Minimum 2 years construction management experience required.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task and effectively meet deadlines.
- Experience in addressing conduct and performance issues with geographically dispersed field employees.
- Well versed in all safety regulations as it relates to traffic management, its service, and facility.
- Valid WorkSafeBC Traffic Control Person ticket considered an asset.
