Director of International Student Development

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of International Student Development. This key leadership role is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the International Student Development Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and programs that support the academic success and well-being of international students.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to support the unit's goals and objectives, aligning with the University's strategic priorities and goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the ISD team, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and structural planning and optimization.
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing strategies to increase awareness of the range of services and programs available to international students.
- Collaborate with other leaders in Student Affairs to ensure alignment and integration with overall SA programs and services for international students.
- Participate in relevant professional associations to stay current with trends, research, and best practices in international student development.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as higher education, international education, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in international student development, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
