Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Educational Assistants to join our team at Duclos School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, promoting social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized plans
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, promoting academic and social success
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
  • Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
  • Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relative experience in educational assistance and/or rehabilitation
  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
