Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to join our Service Department team in Steinbach. As a Shop Foreman, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient daily operation of our Service Department, overseeing shop functions, and mentoring technicians to achieve exceptional work quality and employee safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct daily shop functions to maximize throughput while emphasizing work quality and employee safety
  • Assign work to match technician capability with complexity of the work order
  • Understand all Service Department policies and procedures for proper and consistent Dealership operations
  • Actively support health and safety regulations and internal company safety policies
  • Practice preventive maintenance on all Service department tools, equipment, trucks, and facility
  • Mentor new technicians and assist in their development
  • Provide technical expertise to service writers to support quotes and customer enquiries
  • Assist Service Manager with the employee review and development process
  • Work pro-actively with Parts and Sales departments

Requirements

  • Familiar with technical manuals and research
  • Well-developed problem-solving, analysis, and option-generating skills
  • Process management skills
  • Highly organized, excellent time management, and follow-up
  • Coaching, mentoring skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school completion or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2-5 years in a busy Service Department
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Ag background
  • Journeyman technician certification is an asset
  • Driver's license and clear abstract
