  • Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance, the QA Analyst will oversee and assess testing for GFRT applications and systems. This includes reviewing and analyzing requirements and design documentation, developing and evaluating test strategies, and contributing to the creation of thorough test documentation while participating in daily testing operations.
  • The QA Analyst must thrive under tight deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and adapt to changing requirements. Quick reactions are essential to aid in issue resolution, and the ability to work overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines while minimizing disruption to business users.
  • Evaluate multiple, concurrent projects with strict timelines and assess outstanding issues that could affect the promotion of initiatives to the Production environment, offering suggestions to mitigate associated risks. Prepare test assessments and provide recommendations for code promotion to the Production environment, ensuring the highest quality of service in delivering financial processes.
  • Guide the testing team and project team members, who possess varying levels of expertise, by providing ongoing support for current initiatives, knowledge transfer, and assistance to enhance individual performance.
  • Contribute to maintaining a stable and professional environment while ensuring departmental objectives are understood and achieved.
  • Assist in coordinating testing activities with other departments and interpret detailed information from technical support staff. Engage in forward-planning sessions and identify/resolve conflicts between initiatives.
  • Support the successful implementation of solutions for systems and projects, addressing highly complex business applications with intricate integration needs across various technology disciplines.
  • Provide insights to the project team to incrementally enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of quality assurance.
  • Operate with limited management direction and tackle extremely complex challenges.

Do you possess the skills that will lead to your success in this role?

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a role related to Corporate Financial Reporting or Regulatory Systems with multiple integration points to various databases/systems for data feeds is highly preferred.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Integrated Systems testing and testing of business applications.
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to engage with Senior Management, deliver presentations, or provide status updates.
  • Proficient SQL skills, with prior experience in crafting complex backend queries for test execution.
  • Capability to address all project-related issues and conflicts during the testing cycle.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning to ensure the delivery of quality applications.
  • Familiarity with HP Quality Center (HPQC) 11.52, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Project Management principles.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Experience in report validation and reconciliation.
  • Ability to swiftly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Independent, responsible, accountable, results-driven, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools is an asset.
  • Knowledge of systems design (Agile, Waterfall) and a solid understanding of SDLC, QA, and integration testing methodologies.
  • An undergraduate degree or college diploma in Accounting, certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant, or a related discipline is an asset. Any testing certification is also a plus.
