Business Analyst Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team at Randstad Canada. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and improvement by analyzing business needs and developing solutions to meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive business analysis services to clients with diverse business and technological needs.
  • Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
  • Prepare and advise on business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization.
  • Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client's business problems/opportunities and document the business requirements in a way that I&IT solutions can be determined.
  • Apply re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements through alternative and cost-effective service delivery approaches.
  • Develop strategies, prepare business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conduct feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives.
  • Develop sound processes for requirements gathering including but not limited to JAD sessions, interviews, mockups, etc.
  • Conduct business modeling; use case modeling; conceptual and logical data modeling; process and data flow modeling; use case surveys; business rules definition and non-functional requirements definitions for assigned projects.
  • Monitor progress, resolve problems, and report regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders.
  • Develop performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation and conducts follow-up.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in business analysis and modeling.
  • 10+ years' experience in applying business modeling techniques/tools in a way that the developed artifacts can be reused and leveraged for multiple projects.
  • Experience in the following areas: development of business strategies, business process re-engineering, business case development and cost-benefit analysis, feasibility studies, Joint Application Development (JAD) facilitation, process improvement, system enhancements, user training.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Business Requirements Gathering/Documentation: 10+ years experience in a business analyst capacity, with demonstrated work outlined clearly.
  • Technical Experience: demonstrated experience with GUI, user interface design, and mock-ups (e.g., Balsamiq), Joint Application development (JAD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • System Functional Requirements: ability to work with business and development teams to document system requirements.
  • Communication Skills: demonstrated experience in solving problems analytically and making sound decisions, experience in negotiating using both verbal and written communication skills and should have worked in a team-based environment with a proven record of meeting deadlines.
