Senior Administrative Coordinator

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Health Information Management Supervisor, this role involves the registration of clients using the regional registration system. Responsibilities include the collection and verification of patient demographic details and the validation of health care insurance. You will also be tasked with creating Unique Lifetime Identifiers (ULI #) for non-residents and new residents, as well as newborns in the Alberta Person Directory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and receipt payments as necessary.
- Respond to telephone inquiries in accordance with established guidelines.
- Apply identification wristbands for all registered clients.
- Coordinate inpatient bed assignments in collaboration with the Bed Utilization Coordinator and Charge Nurses.
- Welcome clients, visitors, and staff, directing them to the appropriate areas within the Health Center in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain a positive public image for patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
- Complete financial deposits following Finance guidelines and manage the cash float.
- Retrieve patient charts from Health Information - Records Management (HIRM) outside of regular hours and log the removal of charts to the appropriate nursing unit or physician.
- Review scanned Point of Touch documents.
- Ensure the work area is adequately stocked with necessary supplies and that they are stored properly.
- Provide switchboard break relief and participate in the buddy system.
- Perform other duties as required.
Compensation:
In addition to a competitive salary, Alberta Health Services offers a Fort McMurray Allowance, which provides an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours compensated at the basic rate of pay.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Connect Care and Alberta Health Services Programs is considered an asset.
