Role Overview

The People and Culture Advisor position is designed to provide essential support for daily human resources operations within the True Change Solutions team and its subcontractors. This newly established role will involve close collaboration with the Founder to create, implement, and deliver talent management processes and organizational development strategies. The position entails active participation in various facets of human resource management, including recruitment, performance evaluation, workplace safety, and the implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with employees and contractors to ensure effective execution of talent services.
  • Assist project managers and clients in planning and designing project materials, ensuring successful delivery of talent and organizational development initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage talent management systems as required.
  • Address employee relations issues and conduct investigations, collaborating with leadership on complex matters.
  • Manage the complete recruitment and talent acquisition process.
  • Develop and maintain talent-related documentation, including offer letters, onboarding materials, and employment agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Support strategic talent initiatives through research, recommendations, and participation in the development and implementation of assigned projects.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and best practices to team leaders.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in progressive HR roles; experience in Talent and Organizational Development is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive HR generalist with hands-on experience across various HR functions.
  • Experience in complex organizational structures, including matrixed environments; professional services or healthcare experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment regulations, including the Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Act.
  • Strong understanding of HR standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as HRIS, ATS, and performance management systems.
  • Experience with tools like Smartsheet, Miro, and Calendly is beneficial.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and a proven ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies is a plus.
