Position Overview - Yard Operations Trainee
Work Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off
The Yard Operations Trainee plays a crucial role in supporting the Orica team in both plant operations and bulk product delivery while undergoing training in these areas. This is an entry-level position, with the potential for advancement to a Plant or Mobile Mixing Unit (MMU) Operator role, contingent upon the acquisition of necessary skills and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safety by adhering to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, ensuring safety measures are in place, and following health and safety protocols.
- Maintain a tidy work environment by organizing tools and equipment and securing the site daily to mitigate hazards and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with experienced MMU operators to learn the intricacies of loading, calibration, and operation of delivery vehicles.
- Assist in plant operations alongside seasoned operators, focusing on raw material handling and production processes.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Class 3 driver's license is advantageous.
- Relevant industry experience is preferred.
- Experience in operating trucks and mobile equipment is beneficial.
- A strong desire to learn and contribute to a team environment.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage daily tasks according to the work schedule.
