Job Overview

The role involves conducting assessments, providing treatment, and offering consultation services for individuals with swallowing and communication challenges. The focus is on a diverse adult demographic, encompassing areas such as neurology, medical, surgical, ICU, and geriatric care across various acute medical and rehabilitation units. Responsibilities include performing video fluoroscopy evaluations.

Required Qualifications

Halton Healthcare is in search of professionals who demonstrate expertise in their field; prioritize patient care; excel in teamwork; communicate effectively; and uphold a respectful and responsible approach.

  • A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and registration with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in swallowing assessments, including video fluoroscopic procedures, is crucial.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication abilities are essential.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adaptability to meet the evolving demands of a varied caseload across multiple sites.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the assessment and treatment of dysphagia is preferred.
  • A solid employment and attendance history is required.

The ideal candidate will excel in delivering patient-centered care within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating readiness to implement change and foster innovation. Strong communication skills with a clear focus on patient needs, alongside the ability to manage execution and promote teamwork, are essential attributes.

Additional Information

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift, with hours subject to operational requirements.
