About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment, including installation of phone and data cables and terminations, electrical renovations or new installations as required.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and a proven track record of troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical and electronic equipment and systems. They will also have knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Safety Codes.

We are looking for a candidate who is a Grade XII graduate with a valid Nova Scotia Construction Electrician Journeyman Certification and at least one year of post-Journeyman experience, with four years of experience preferred.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in maintenance, repair, and installation of all types of electrical systems and new equipment, as well as valid training in WHMIS, Confined Space Awareness, Fall Protection, Arc Flash Training, First Aid, Lock & Tag Out, and Infection Control.

Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $27.44 - $32.65, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.

This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $170.62 biweekly. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
