About the Role

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Refurbishment Technician to join our team on an internship basis. As a Refurbishment Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanism refurbishment activities, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and replacement of components, as well as mechanical and electrical testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform refurbishment activities on control mechanisms of circuit breakers, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and replacement of components.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical assembly of high-voltage switchgear equipment.
  • Assist in the drafting of refurbishment reports.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Vocational diploma in electromechanics or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in industrial mechanics, pneumatic and hydraulic fluids, electricity, industrial mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience in the use of manual crimping tools, electric drills, and screwdrivers, vernier calipers.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to assemble components using assembly drawings and component lists.

Assets

  • Diploma – Electrical Technician or Electrician.
  • Permit for Use of Overhead Crane.
  • Permit for use of forklift.

Work Conditions

  • Workplace: Clean, air-conditioned production floor.
  • Required clothing: Safety shoes and safety glasses (provided by Hitachi Energy).
  • No possibility of remote work.
