About the Role

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Refurbishment Technician to join our team as an intern. As a Refurbishment Technician, you will play a critical role in the refurbishment of control mechanisms for circuit breakers, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform refurbishment activities, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and replacement of components, as well as mechanical and electrical testing.
  • Assemble high-voltage switchgear equipment, ensuring precise and accurate workmanship.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Vocational diploma in electromechanics or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in industrial mechanics, pneumatic and hydraulic fluids, electricity, and industrial mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly.
  • Proficiency in the use of manual crimping tools, electric drills, and screwdrivers, as well as vernier calipers.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to assemble components using assembly drawings and component lists.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Technician or Electrician.
  • Permit for Use of Overhead Crane.
  • Permit for use of forklift.
