Job Title: Director, Western Arctic Research Centre

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Director, Western Arctic Research Centre. This role is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Western Arctic Research Centre, a regional hub of scientific activity in the western Arctic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement research programs that align with Aurora College priorities and objectives
  • Provide scientific guidance and logistical planning strategies for research projects
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and researchers from NWT communities, universities, government departments, industry, and international organizations
  • Manage and supervise staff to ensure effective implementation of research programs
Requirements:
  • PhD in Natural, Physical, or Environmental Science
  • Five years' experience in research project management
  • Five years' progressive experience in management/supervision of staff
  • Five years' experience implementing research programs in remote locations
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary starting at $58.88 per hour (approximately $114,816.00 per annum)
  • Annual Northern Allowance of $14,661.00
