Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Home Support team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a Community Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing public health services, prevention, and health promotion to enhance the well-being and safety of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a full continuum of public health services, including health promotion, advocacy, counseling, education, assessment, referral, and intervention in community-based settings.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships to provide health services and promote wellness.
- Identify and prioritize wellness needs of clients and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Training in public health nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Comprehensive knowledge and practice of public health nursing theory, within a primary health care and population health approach.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the BCCNM standards for nursing practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice related to childhood and adolescence.
- Demonstrated ability to counsel clients and their families.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of immunization protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to critically read and utilize current health research in evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently and make sound nursing practice decisions.
