Position Summary

Role Description

As a key member of the Propak team, you will have the opportunity to engage in a range of gas processing and heavy oil initiatives for both local and global clients. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Engaging in diverse projects, including FEED studies, modular packages, and comprehensive turnkey EPFC projects.
  • Gaining extensive technical knowledge in the field of natural gas and heavy oil processing.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their professional outputs.
  • Acting as a pivotal decision-maker while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineering and design professionals.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with clients to foster business growth.
  • Acquiring hands-on experience by overseeing the fabrication and assembly processes at Propak's facilities.
  • Traveling for domestic and international project support, including startup and commissioning phases.
  • Receiving guidance from senior process engineers and management to enhance your technical skills and leadership capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer designation, registered and in good standing with the relevant engineering association.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in natural gas processing, with specific expertise in fractional distillation, gas sweetening, dehydration, hydrocarbon dewpoint control, and/or LPG and NGL recovery.
  • Experience in designing alternative processes, such as Glycol Dehydration, Sweetening, Mechanical Refrigeration, Oil Processing, SAGD, and Compression, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EPC and/or fabrication environments.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, including HYSYS, BR&E ProMax, VMGSim Symmetry, and Flarenet.
  • Experience in sizing process equipment, such as separators, towers, heat exchangers, PSVs, flare systems, control valves, pumps, and compressors.
  • Knowledge of standard process deliverables, including PFD, HMB, P&ID, Line List, Design Basis Memorandum, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control Narratives, and Datasheets.
